I initially started this blog as a fashion blog, for me to just post ideas etc. But, as much as I love clothes and styling, I've slowly realized I wanted to expand, mainly into beauty! I love make-up and skincare products, so I have decided I will be posting more about these topics as well. Look out for my first haul post/video later today!!

Update!
I recently said I was going to do a better job of keeping up with my blog, but I told myself that and then finals happened. So I got all distracted with school but it's summer now! Although it's not a new year, it's kind of a new year for me because I am graduating from undergrad so I'm starting an entire new chapter of my life that I'm really excited about. I'm taking a year off before I start medical school so I won't be taking classes for the first time in...17 years. Wow. That's kind of crazy. But anyways, I hope to actually keep up with my blog from here on out...wish me luck!!

Chi City!
So I'm currently sitting on the balcony of a Chicago condo overlooking what feels like half the city- and I love it! Chicago is one of my favorite cities and being only 4 hours or so away from Lansing where I live, it's so easy to come down here for a weekend. Back In Time
Something I've been thinking about for a while now is the repetitive nature of fashion. It seems that everything that's trending now is in fact a throwback to 60s, 70s and 80s fashion. The new spin on it is in fact the combination of these three decades that has inspired designers this year. Polka dots + peplum? Hello 60s and 80s! Just a little note on something I've been thinking about...I absolutely love the reinvention of old trends, so this isn't something negative in my mind at all. I just wish my mom kept more of her old clothes for me to steal!!
Spotty Trending
Polka dots are taking over! The former, seemingly childish fashion has suddenly become the new face of couture. Okay, maybe not the face of couture, but you get the idea. Polka dots have been spotted everywhere (pun intended). From clothes to jewelry to nails, polka dots are definitely popping up in every aspect of the fashion industry.

floral+color
I love floral prints, especially for spring! I think a cute way to play up florals are to add a pop of a different color, like these turquoise pumps. I'm not really a believer in the idea that having one busy piece doesn't mean you can't have another statement piece of some kind. Something like this, without a pattern but is simply bringing another color to the ensemble, works really well! Let me know what you think :)
Blazers, Blazers and Blazers...oh my!
I have to say, (one of) my (multiple) recent weaknesses has been for blazers. I love that they have become such a versatile staple in any closet and they are no longer restricted to the office or any one season. An easy way to take away from the menswear aspect of a blazer is to wear a colored, shorter blazer. From stripes to patterns to trending spring colors, you can find pretty much any style or type of blazer you're looking for! Here are a few of my favorites:
